A new entry into the genre of Black love stories. Released in 2019, this moving tale based on James Baldwin’s novel of the same title earned star Regina King an Oscar.
Set in 1970s Harlem, Tish (Kiki Layne) and her fiancé Alonzo (Stephan James) are in love and on the path to marriage. However, their plans fall apart when Alonzo is arrested for a crime he didn’t commit.
