Attention BMW car lovers: The new Z4 M40i is here and it is a fast car. This compact roadster’s acceleration time is 0-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds.

The Z4 Roadster first hit the streets of North America in 2003. BMW has now unveiled its latest version — the all-new BMW Z4 M40i first edition Roadster.

What makes this car so impressive is its size. Besides being fast, it is also well grounded. BMW added a new sports chassis with equal weight distribution. Yes, the car sits low, but it also hugs the road. The Z4 lightweight design, the new soft top, and optimized aerodynamic properties, allows drivers to test their driving skills on most racing tracks.

For speed enthusiasts, this sleek two-seater comes with two new engine options — 255 hp and 382 hp BMW TwinPower Turbocharged engines. Coupled with the car’s Eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, you are able to drive this car in automatic or use shift paddles located on the steering wheel.

Keeping all customers in mind, BMW increased cargo space too. The new BMW Z4 Roadster increased storage space behind the seats with a retaining net, large cupholders under the center armrest cover and roomy door pockets. The trunk capacity is 9.9 cu. ft. (with the soft-top open or closed), an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the previous Z4. An optional trunk through-loading system extends the possibilities for handling longer items during everyday use and when going away on trips.

The Z4 comes standard with electric sports seats featuring integral headrests.  A very noticeable change, is the seat rails, which can extend in length by 0.9 inches over those in its predecessor, allowing the seats to be adjusted over a greater range. Engineers put a lot of thought into the overall aesthetics of the Z4. Typically, cars this size become a challenge for me to get my six-three frame into a car. Not so for the M40i.

BMW also offers optional M sports seats, which include electro-pneumatic backrest. The seats lateral support tightens around you through high-speed corners.

This car comes with an impressive price for your consideration. The suggested manufacturer’s retail price starts around $63,700. As test-driven, $70,245.
