TV and film hairstylist Shunika Terry explains the power of Black womanhood

What two things can you share that you’ve learned from failure or from being uncomfortable?

Failure made me research and educate myself on things that I thought I knew. It made me more confident and stronger in my skills. Failure helped me grow. Failure taught me, “It’s not how you start, it’s how you end.” I didn’t give up, I excelled.

As a female historymaker, what do you want your legacy to be?

My legacy will be known for building up the lives and communities that have been forgotten. I want to leave an influential mark in the film industry for Black hairstylists and create an empire that can build and impact communities worldwide.
