Dwayne Johnson already has conquered Hollywood. Now he has set his sights on politics.

The two-time movie box office champ, who also goes by the nickname “The Rock,” indicated that he has aspirations to seek the highest office in the land and will pursue that goal if he discerns public will for his candidacy.

“I do have the goal to unite our country. And I also feel that: If this is what the people want, then I will do that,” he told “Sunday Today” host Willie Geist.

Johnson, 49, the star of multiple blockbuster films such as Central Intelligence and Jumanji, said he believes he possesses the requisite intangibles, charisma, brand recognition and world experience to make a successful bid.

“I have a goal, and an interest and an ambition to unite our country,” said Johnson, whose character on the NBC sitcom “Young Rock,” which is based on his life, is running for president in 2032. “If this is what the people want, then I will do that.”

He added, “If the time comes where there is a good amount of people who want to see that happen, then I’m going to consider it.”

According to Newsweek, a sizable contingent of Johnson’s admirers would like the former pro wrestling superstar to extricate the country from the toxic racial and political quagmire it’s currently mired in.

Johnson posted his intentions on his Instagram page along with a little self-deprecating humor.

“What the people want will lead and inform that decision,” he said. “And if that is in fact what they want, then I’m going to take another drink of my Teremana [tequila, his own brand] and I’m going to say, ‘OK, let’s do it.’”

Johnson is far from the only actor mulling the idea of a political future. Matthew McConaughey is very interested in running for governor of Texas, his home state.
