NeNe Leakes recently held a special memorial and celebration of life for her late husband Gregg Leakes at Linnethia’s Lounge.
Almost one week after Gregg’s untimely death, friends and family came together to honor and celebrate his life. The celebration featured musical performances by Tamar Braxton, Keke Wyatt, Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, and Le’Andria Johnson. NeNe described the event as “just the way” Gregg wanted it.
Among the attendees were also guests from The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast including Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, Marlo Hampton, Eva Marcille, and Real Housewives OG Lisa Wu.
As previously reported, Gregg Leakes lost his battle to colon cancer on Sept. 1. His passing came just a few days after NeNe announced his debilitating condition at her lounge, which was seen in a clip circulating social media. NeNe and Gregg were together for 24 years, divorcing in 2011 and getting remarried in June 2013.
In an Instagram post commemorating the celebration, NeNe shared, “It took a whole day for me to decide if I wanted to post pictures from Gregg’s ‘Celebration Of Life’ ceremony. What a celebration it was! Packed packed packed! I am grateful for all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I love Gregg so much and miss him a lot. I will continue to be strong and celebrate his life.”
