Lil Baby called out his jeweler Rafael & Co. this week for selling him a fake $400,000 Patek Phillipe watch. “The Bigger Picture” rapper was flossing his new timepiece on the Internet before several people pointed out the watch’s illegitimacy.
“Now @rafaelloandco y’all Kno better then to sell ME of all people a FAKE Or anything that could be called a FAKE ! I stand on my name the same way y’all should ! Ain’t no such thing as a mistake when that money involved [shrug emoji]!! Don’t F——n Play Wit me Cause when I’m on that I’m on that [red devil emoji] #ansameforyoup*ssyassn*ggas #dontplaywitbaby,” he posted.
The celebrity jeweler whose clients also include the likes of Kevin Hart, Doja Cat and A$AP Ferg has now responded and they actually admitted they were wrong and pointed out that they do stand by their word.
“We do stand on our name just like he does that’s why today he got those four rings for free and his money back because we didn’t do our homework on the watch and we take full responsibility for that. But it didn’t happen intentionally and he knows that for a fact,” the company posted on its Instagram story.
Rafael & Co. also released another statement in a post with a more detailed apology.
“I should have inspected the watch after purchasing it from the dealer. I take full responsibility for not doing my job properly. I personally would NEVER knowingly sell him or anyone else – anything that is not 100 percent authentic. I have known @lilbaby for a while and there is nothing fake about him especially his jewelry and watches,” the company further explained in the post.
Lil Baby was gifted four free new rings as well as a full refund on the fake $400,000 Patek Phillipe watch. Check out the rings Lil Baby was given for the company’s mistake below.
