Candyman (2021)

Directed by Nia DaCosta and co-written by Jordan Peele, Candyman is a sequel to the 1992 classic. The film follows Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who is a Chicago artist that uses the legend of Candyman as inspiration for his latest work. Similar to the original, the spirit of Candyman ends up returning to wreak havoc on Chicago one more time.


Us

Another Jordan Peele classic, Us stars Lupita Nyong’o (Adelaide) and Winston Duke (Gabe), as they take their family on a vacation getaway to the beachfront home where Adelaide grew up as a child. Things quickly take a turn for the worst when the family ends up having to fight for their lives against their doppelgängers.


Antebellum

Janelle Monae plays successful writer Veronica Henley who is wrapping up a book tour and ends up traveling back in time and is forced to confront her past, present and future. As she navigates through her new reality, she must piece together various clues before it’s too late.

Spell

While flying to his estranged father’s funeral with his family, Marquis (Omari Hardwick) loses control over the plane after hitting a storm. He then wakes up alone in the attic of a woman who claims she can nurse him back to health with dark magic.
