Ford’s multicultural marketing manager Dee Guerrero discusses what it takes to be a Maverick and #BuiltFordTough

Give us insight on why Ford decided to go in the direction of a hybrid.

One of the things we believe and know is electrification is the new way forward. At Ford we want to be one of the leaders, if not “the” leader in electric. We have our “Built for America” campaign, which delivers on where the brand wants to go in whatever we’re doing. We have a number of products that we’ve been playing in the hybrid game for a while, but noticing it’s becoming more mainstream, we’ve made hybrid standard. We are environmentally conscious. We know what our role is in the community. We know a lot of people don’t understand it. We have electrification education on Ford.com that really explains what it means to be a battery electric vehicle owner, hybrid, and plug-in owner.

We make it easy and simple. It’s the new norm. We wanted to kill the notion that trucks are expensive with high maintenance and ownership costs. With a hybrid, you get a 500 mile range and 42 miles per gallon. The vehicle is starting at $19,995. You can’t get any better than that! You get capacity for up to 5 passengers and it’s a dual cabin.  It has a plethora of storage. If you’re a DIYer or a  creative “IYer” we have storage for you. We have Apple and Android carplay. A variety of your apps are right on your screen. There’s a lot of tech in here. You get a lot of Ford copilot safety features. You also have the flex bed system to maneuver the bed space. There’s a bike rack and a 2×4 wood rack. It’s flexible for whatever you need it for. We have the 8inch screen and dual cluster. There are different modes for slippery, mud, snow, and a variety of other features. With the Maverick we give you more.
