Karrueche Tran describes herself as a “relationship girl,” but the stylist-turned-actress visited the “Tamron Hall Show” on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, and revealed that she has decided to be single to focus more on her career.

Hall asked how Tran’s personal life and being in a high-profile relationship have impacted how the public has received her acting.

“I thought about you recently when Oprah famously told Beyoncé, ‘Keep your relationships private because people will just want to ask about those things.’ You clearly didn’t watch the Oprah show that episode,” Hall jokingly told Tran.

The “Claws” star laughed before responding, “It’s hard to keep it private when I just want to be in the public.”

“But I did a lot of the background work to get to my career … I just wanted to really focus on my career and myself,” Tran explained.

Hall went on to ask if Tran is wiping her hands of red carpet relationships.

“For a while. And that’s why I’ve chosen to be single right now,” Tran admitted. “I’m in this glow-up phase and I’ve been talking to my therapist like, ‘What is going on with me? I want to be single. I want to focus on me. I’m having these thoughts and these feelings,’ and she’s like, ‘You’re stepping into your power.’ “

Before reaching her glow-up phase, Tran shared that she was thinking about giving up on acting before landing her role as Virginia Loc on the hit TNT show “Claws.”

“Something just told me to keep moving forward, and I said, ‘You know what, I’ve got to take it up a notch,’ ” Tran revealed.

“At first, I was taking private acting lessons, and then I started taking group classes to kind of like break me out my shell, and that’s when I booked ‘Claws.’ “
