The Triller-owned Veruz battle announced Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, that the in-person battle will take place at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. Tickets for the upcoming battle are available on the Verzuz website. Folks not in proximity to the stadium can watch the Ciroc-sponsored event live on Triller, FiteTV, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Musiq Soulchild, who was born Taalib Hassan Johnson in Philadelphia 44 years ago, will appear at the Verzuz event armed with plenty of memorable pillow music like “Don’t Change,” “Half Crazy,” “Womanopoly,” “B.U.D.D.Y.,” “Teach Me,” “SoBeautiful and “I Do.”
Anthony Cornelius Hamilton, 51, has plenty of love leftover from his wife and five children in order to shower the audience with romance vibes with such slow-dance bangers and heart-warmers as: “Charlene,” “Best of Me,” “The Point of It All, “Comin’ From Where I’m From,” “Superstar,” “Can’t Let Go,” “Her Heart,” “Cornbread, Fish & Collard Greens.”
The R&B-centric show will be Verzuz’s 38th battle, following Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia’s notorious dustup.
There are no future appointments set yet, but Dr. Dre stoked excitement when he asked rather boldly about who could hang in the musical ring with fellow legend Eminem. Swizz Beatz suggested that Busta Rhymes could hang, while Bay Area icon E-40 said Busta would mop up Slim Shady.
