Lil Uzi Vert makes bold statement to start Black History Month; Twitter gags

Lil Uzi Vert has been known for doing things differently than others. For example, he decided to have a 24 million-dollar pink diamond implanted in his forehead. (He now sports a scar where the diamond used to be after it was ripped out of his head by fans after he dove into the crowd during his performance at the Rolling Loud music festival.)

Well, Vert is back at it again, and this time he’s talking about changing his skin tone.

On Feb. 2, Vert tweeted “Bleaching my skin need umbrella.” Fans saw this and started questioning the rapper, especially since it’s Black History Month.

While Vert was tweeting, he changed his profile picture to an image of Michael Jackson. There were rumors that Jackson bleached his skin, but he actually had a skin disease called vitiligo, which results in white patches on the skin and sensitivity to sunlight.

Apparently, Vert saw what the fans were tweeting and then changed his profile picture to an image of Vybz Kartel, who is a famous dancehall artist who bleached his skin in 2018. Vert still has the picture of Kartel on his profile.

Whether this was a way to promote his new music or he was serious, Vert definitely succeeded in catching the people’s attention.
