Actress Kimberly Elise is feeling the heat after supporting the demise of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court, thus ending legalized abortions in the United States.

Elise, who starred in For Colored Girls and John Q started trending on social media after she celebrated the landmark decision on her Instagram page. Elise, 55, and the granddaughter of famed actress Cicely Tyson began by telling her 500K followers that “millions of babies will be saved from death by abortion due to the overturning of Roe V. Wade.”

Most fans did not share in Elise’s joyful celebration and offered up memes and jokes to mock Elise or outright chastise the Diary of a Mad Black Woman star.

To be sure, Elise does have some supporters who admonished other Blacks to remember that African Americans are not monolithic people and are entitled to their own opinions.

Writer J.C. tweeted: “Kimberly Elise has an opinion and view that’s unique to her … Some people will agree and others will disagree, we don’t have the same views on anything. But let’s not act like y’all ain’t gonna watch Diary of a Mad Black Woman the moment it comes on tv again.”

Still, others got laughs from reading the many barbs shot at Elise by other fans, referencing perhaps her best-known role as the scorned wife in Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
