Recently, Davis spoke with rolling out about his entertainment career and the current landscape of R&B.

Describe your new single “How Many Times”?

It’s like an Afro, R&B vibe. It features my boy Fresco Trey, we’re both from Memphis, [Tennessee]. We just dropped that, we’ve got a music video to it and it’s actually doing pretty well on the streaming platforms. Everyone’s receiving it well.

Memphis is extremely hot right now for music. What’s it like being a part of that movement?

I think it’s pretty cool because there are not a lot of R&B artists really coming up from there. So, I think it’s like a breath of fresh air to have R&B artists like myself, who are positive and want to bring the music back to love.

I think it’s cool to give them something different because we have a lot of rappers that are coming from Memphis and they’re about their life. So, I think it’s a breath of fresh air to have me come out. I got friends that do that, but I’m the one that’s about love and positivity. Hopefully, I can take it as far as other artists like myself to come out and do the same.

Would you do a record with GloRilla?

Of course. I think she has a really cool personality … that might be a vibe, and it’s cool because I have such a soft voice and she has more of a rough voice. I think it’d be kind of different because usually the guy has the rougher voice and the girl has the softer voice.

What was your rise on TikTok like?

I actually started TikTok because the pandemic hit. I think it was 2019, 2020. My mom was like, “Dude. You should get on social media. You should get on TikTok and sing.” I think, at the time, there weren’t really a lot of singers. I jumped on, started singing on there, mixing it with my comedy, and hit a million in like a month, and then so on. Now I’m over 16 million and now I just try different things. I’m singing, I’m doing videos with my mom, doing videos with random people in the street … I just enjoy making content, collaborating and expressing myself.
