Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, has been facing legal issues with her record label, 1501 Entertainment, for two years. Recently, the brand once again attempted to stop her success by denying the use of her hit song “Her” to be used for the American Music Awards advertising.

According to People magazine, the rapper has been granted a temporary restraining order against her record label and distributor, 300 Entertainment. The courts ruled that there was evidence that irreparable harm is eminent to Pete. No other reason has been found as to why the record label would try to stop using her music other than trying to harm her image.

The American Music Awards will take place Nov. 20, 2022, and the courts have worked in the rapper’s favor with this restraining order. Pete’s attorney, Ira Friedman, shared thatthere was not enough time to give notice to Defendants, hold a hearing, and issue a restraining order before the irreparable injury, loss, or damage would occur.”

Pete has been nominated for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist at the American Music Awards. She recently won Top Rap Female Artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
