Migos alumni Quavo and Offset have been estranged for more than a year, prior to the unfortunate passing of bandmate Takeoff.
The rift may have gotten wider as Quavo made cryptic criticisms of the messy breakup between Offset and his wife Cardi B. The “Bodak Yellow” femcee notified her 169 million Instagram followers last week that she is moving on from the marriage, though she did not specifically say that she was going to file for a divorce.
Quavo seemed to indicate that he is tired of hearing about and being in proximity to Cardi’s and Offset’s never-ending drama.
“Nephew ain’t with the soap opera,” he penned on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “LONG LIVE ROCKET [rocket emoji] [praying hands emoji]. Pray for y’all though. [infinity emojis].”
Fans quickly pieced the puzzle together and linked his statement with Offset and his estranged wife.
Both Quavo and Offset are also upset that fans somehow pulled the late Takeoff into this quagmire, with most using Takeoff as a way to further express their newfound disdain for Offset.
Offset used Instagram to tell fans to chill out on the low blows in light of he and Quavo still have heavy hearts over Takeoff’s tragic death.
“Fans using Takeoff’s name in the middle of all this isn’t cool. I’m still grieving my brother and would like for his name to not be brought up,” Offset wrote.
