Meet Aneesa Getaneh, a dynamic force in the world of finance, entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment. Armed with a master’s degree in social entrepreneurship and change from Pepperdine University, Getaneh has emerged as a serial entrepreneur, author and speaker dedicated to reshaping the financial landscape for women. As the CEO of Bloom Credit & Co., she not only provides essential insights into building stellar credit but also empowers women to leverage business credit for strategic investments in cash-flowing assets.
Describe you journey as a serial entrepreneur. What inspired you to pursue ventures in different industries?
My journey as a serial entrepreneur wasn’t a deliberate choice. It evolved out of necessity. After facing a job termination, I made a conscious decision to invest in myself. I recognized that once I acquired a certain level of knowledge, returning to traditional employment became less appealing. My initial venture involved becoming a certified credit consultant in the credit space. Once I experienced firsthand how improving my credit positively impacted my life and finances, I felt compelled to explore ways to assist others in similar situations.
The idea of establishing a medical vocational school had always been a dream stemming from my previous experience as a CNA. When the opportunity presented itself, I pursued this dream to provide education in the medical field. Subsequent business ventures were born out of identifying needs within the core business.
Share a success story of a woman who has benefited from your guidance in building credit for investment in cash-flowing assets?
I’ve had the privilege of empowering numerous women to achieve financial success by having excellent credit and sound financial health, also referred to as being “Pretty on Paper.” One particularly gratifying success story involves my initial venture, where I guided a collective of Black women in a collaborative economic project. In this endeavor, I supported a group of friends in elevating their credit scores, securing business credit, facilitating car purchases under their businesses and guiding them through the acquisition of their inaugural rental property.
Witnessing these women initiate and successfully complete each step toward their first investment goal reinforced the profound impact of education, exposure and execution in transforming lives. This experience has since shaped the framework of our current approach, emphasizing the significance of imparting knowledge, broadening horizons and executing strategic financial plans.
What can we expect from you next?
I’m thrilled about my ongoing collaboration with the Grown Woman TV network. Presently, I’m deeply engaged in the production of my podcast titled “Pretty and Profitable.” This podcast seamlessly integrates my expertise in the credit space and is heavily influenced by my latest book, 22 Powerful Principles Any Woman Can Use to Build Wealth. The focal point is the wealth principle derived from the Proverbs 31 woman, whom I affectionately term “The Profitable Proverbs 31 Woman.” The podcast — designed as a resource for women — explores the intersection of identity and finances. I feel like some women have gotten to the bag, but in the process have lost themselves. So, my aim is to guide women on the path to becoming empowered individuals capable of achieving both goals: build wealth and strengthen identity.
