Kevin Hart fans have not seen the Philadelphia born comedian and actor quite like this before.
In the upcoming sci-fi action film, Borderlands, Hart will play an highly-trained mercenary who joins a ragtag group of various experts to help an infamous bounty hunter find a special little girl that has gone missing.
Based off the wildly popular video game franchise of the same name, the star studded film features an elite ensemble including Oscar-winners Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis in addition to Jack Black, Gina Gershon and more.
“Together, these unlikely heroes must battle an alien species and dangerous bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other,” says the movie statement.
A first-person shooter video game combining western and sci-fi elements, Borderlands debuted in 2009. The success of the original game spawned several sequels, as well as various spin-offs and downloadable content expansions, with the entire series having sold over 77 million copies worldwide, as of 2022.
Borderlands will make its way into theaters on Aug. 9.
