Black Twitter can be described as both a powerful unseen entity and also very easy to find if you know where to look.
A new three-part docuseries from producer Prentice Penny (“Insecure”) called Black Twitter: A People’s History will shed some light on the cultural phenomenon that’s secretly out in the open.
Based in part on Jason Parham’s WIRED cover story, the series will examine how the collective has used it’s digital footprint to make an impact on culture, music, politics and more.
The series will feature contributions from a long list of veterans of the platform including Amanda Seales, April Reign (creator of #OscarsSoWhite), Brad Jenkins, God-Is Rivera (former X global director of culture and community), Jamilah Lemieux, Jemele Hill, Luvvie Ajayi Jones, Roxane Gay, Sam Jay, Van Lathan, and W.Kamau Bell among others.
Black Twitter: A People’s History will make its debut on Hulu on May 9.
