Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization Leaders & Legends awards gala

Annual celebration takes place at King Plow Arts Center, and even Tech’s first Black student from 1961 integration makes appearance

The Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization on Friday, April 12, recognized outstanding alumni, faculty, students, and industry leaders whose service and leadership have positively impacted the Black community and the Institute more broadly at its annual Leaders & Legends Awards Gala.


GTBAO president Cynthia Culbreath was happy to help head up the celebration, which was held at the King Plow Arts Center in west Midtown Atlanta. It paid homage to Chisom Onyia, winner of the Student Award; Dr. Raheem Beyah, winner of the Faculty Award; Dr. Kim D. Harrington, winner of the Staff Award; Eric L. Pinckney, winner of the Pioneer Award; Errika Moore, winner of the Philanthropist Award; and attorney Tori M. Silas, winner of the Athlete Award.
