Jeannie Mai and Jeezy’s once-storybook marriage has degenerated into explosive divorce proceedings with the wife claiming the rapper beat and choked her.

In court documents obtained by The Shade Room, Mai alleged that her estranged husband punched her in the face three weeks after giving birth to their daughter, Monaco, in January 2022.

According to her filing, Jeezy allegedly once sprayed insults at Mai and then punched her square in the face with a closed fist, causing hemorrhaging, when she was sitting inside their car.

Mai also asserted that Jeezy once choked her from behind and threw her down a case of stairs, prompting security intervention, during a stay at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco.

“[Jeezy] has a history of threats, violence, and bodily harm,” Mai’s attorney wrote in the filing. “[Mai] mistakenly believed [Jeezy] when he convinced her prior to their marriage that he was a changed man, and his past was in his past, but as one can see from the examples of abuse [Mai] endured during the marriage that has not turned out to be the case.”

She also said Jeezy kept an AK-47 machine gun in proximity to their toddler.

Jeezy denies that he ever beat or choked his estranged wife, Jeannie Mai

According to Complex magazine, Jeezy countered Mai’s “false” and “deeply disturbing” claims by saying the truth would eventually come out in court.

“The allegations are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play..”  As the statement continued, Jeezy indicated that his only current concern is their two-year-old Monaco. “…and at this time, my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandate joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through proper legal channels.”

According to the filing, Mai told the court that she was never trying to eliminate visitations by Jeezy to see their child but to ensure her safety due to having his guns within reach.

According to TMZ, the rapper filed for “joint legal custody and joint physical custody of the minor child” on April 16. He’s also asking the court to determine a “specific parenting time schedule.”
