The long-awaited film adaptation of the Tony-award winning musical, Wicked is finally ready to fly into theaters.

First teased during Super Bowl LVIII in February, the Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande led film will tell the story of the friendship between Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West (Erivo) and Glinda, the Good Witch before Dorothy’s sudden arrival to the land of Oz.

“We dreamed very, very, very big for Wicked,” director John M. Chu said of the film last month at CinemaCon. A magical land of sights and sounds that will astonish, and performances that will lift your spirits and occasionally break your heart.”

Starring alongside Erivo and Grande in the Universal Pictures production will be Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, and Michelle Yeoh.

Wicked will premiere the first installment of the two-part film adaptation in theaters on November 27 with its sequel, Wicked Part Two, scheduled to be released on Nov. 26, 2025.
