Cocoa Brown is giving couples more than they bargained for in the upcoming romantic dramedy, Twisted Hearts.
Written by Taylor Love (Check Out Time, The Deal) the film follows three struggling couples as they embark on a couples retreat hoping to repair the problems within their relationships. Individually, the couples arrive at their retreat destination reality-show style and have a chance to meet and mingle to get to know one another before Dr.Rose (Brown) arrives and throws them a curve ball.
Soon after everyone lays their cards on the table in hopes of getting to the root of their issues with their respective partners, Dr. Rose informs the group that she has paired them with one of the other retreat attendees in a mandatory couples swap for the remainder of the weekend. Things get tricky as group members open up to their new temporary partners with some finding attraction, chemistry and understanding where they hadn’t before. Difficult choices will have to be made as each person must decide who is their perfect match.
Directed by Michael “Boogie” Pinckney, this poignant look at modern relationships also stars Adrian Lockett, Emelina Adams, Lauren Ashley White, Mashayla Barnes, Jay Reeves, and Leland B. Martin.
Twisted Hearts will land in theaters on May 31.
