Trina ready to debut 2 major projects

The hip-hop legend is still working as hard as ever

Trina is not satisfied.

The rap legend and 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards “I Am Hip-Hop Icon” recipient is working harder than ever in 2024. On June 13 at the 2024 American Black Film Festival, she was on the “Uncensored Live” panel, presented by TV One. The Miami artist has already done an episode of “Uncensored” on TV One in 2022.

Her memoir, Da Baddest, is set to publish this fall from Simon & Schuster. Fellow legendary rapper and producer Missy Elliott wrote the book’s introduction.

Known as an original city girl from Miami and having a career that largely centers unapologetically being herself whether in music or on reality TV, Trina was raised as a sheltered child by her mother and stepfather —  something that will be explored more in the book about her life and career peaks and valleys.

Trina told rolling out her network is on the way this winter, and people should expect to see the launch of it around the wintertime.

Why was it important for you to show up and support ABFF this year?

I think it’s a great thing. It’s good for the culture. It gives the young and up-and-coming, aspiring creatives motivation, hope and faith. I look forward to seeing everybody’s hard work being productive and creative. It’s always a blessing [to see those completed projects].

What are you currently promoting?

A lot of stuff. I’m actually starting my own network, so that’s it.

Congratulations.

Thank you.

What’s the network going to be about?

I can’t say that yet.

Well, when should people expect it?

Closer to the winter than the fall.
