Bronny James is expected to become a professional basketball player in the next 48 hours, but he’s already acting like an NBA baller. On June 14, the 19-year-old went sneaker shopping with “Complex” as part of their show focused on footwear.

He discussed his favorite shoes from his dad, LeBron James, while host Joe La Puma pointed out some of his father’s favorite shoes from his time with the Miami Heat. The shoes discussed and purchased stayed within the Nike wheelhouse. In 2022, Bronny signed an NIL deal with Nike. In 2015, LeBron reportedly signed a lifetime Nike deal worth approximately $1 billion. The senior James has his own building at the Nike headquarters in Oregon.

Bronny bought shoes for himself, including some of his childhood favorites and shoes for his younger brother, Bryce, for his 17th birthday. He said it was the first time he’d been in a sneaker store since before the pandemic. His total checkout came out to $10,172.55.

“Bet,” Bronny responded as he tapped his card to complete the purchase.

Bronny is projected to be selected in the late second round of this year’s NBA Draft, but he could also surprise some people and get picked up late in the first round from teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns or Minnesota Timberwolves.

“That’s a blessing,” Bronny said on the show. “My dreams are finally coming true, and it’s a great opportunity that I’m ready to take advantage of.”
