After a partial hiatus, Lil Mosey is ready to return to the hip-hop scene.
Once the face of melodic rappers between 2017-2020, Mosey’s legal troubles slowed down his music releases. However, he’s now ready to release his first full project since 2020’s Certified Hitmaker.
Despite facing challenges in the algorithm-driven era that rewards prolific content creators, Mosey has maintained his online presence, unlike some of his late 2010s peers such as YBN Nahmir and Famous Dex.
After staying afloat with singles and a three-song EP, UNI, over the past three years, Mosey has returned — and is eager to alert fans.
Don’t call it a comeback 🙏🏼🤫

The first snippet from the new era of Mosey comes from his new single, “By Yourself.” The track empowers Black women to operate from self-love and self-assurance rather than co-dependency and falling in step with society’s misogynistic traditions. The tune follows the recent music trend of men cheering on women, like recent hits “You Got It” by Vedo and Skilla Baby’s “Bae.”
Mosey gave rolling out his latest career update and offered a special message for the people who “miss 2020 Mosey.”
What’s new with your music, and should people expect any new releases?
I’m dropping an EP. It’s going to be eight to nine songs that I’m going to be dropping in a month. The first single [“By Yourself”] came out in July, so it’s time to turn up on these n—–.
What advice do you have for young artists struggling to get more than 200 or 1,000 plays on a song?
You have to start somewhere, man. I was getting 200 plays at one point, too, back in the day. You just have to keep working. Keep trying, and the s— is going to happen. You just have to keep pushing — and that’s how you do it.
