People are increasingly turning to technology to take control of their health and well-being.

Samsung reported a huge 37% increase in sales of their wearable devices, such as smart watches and the new Galaxy Ring, as health-conscious consumers look for new and innovative ways to work towards their goals.

“The Open Always Wins campaign is a true reflection of us as a brand, and how we’re approaching our partnership with the Olympics and Paralympics.

“For Samsung, openness can mean anything from trying a new sport, reaching new communities, or even innovating new technologies. It’s been a privilege to work with our Team Samsung Galaxy ambassadors, such as Kadeena Cox, who has shared her inspiring story behind her Paris journey.

“With the backdrop of the summer of sports, including the Olympics and Paralympics games which are well underway, we’re seeing people take more control of their own health and well-being.

“This has resulted in a 37% increase year-on-year in our wearable category, which demonstrates that our customers are looking for technology to support them with their goals.

“For those looking after a more discreet form of fitness monitoring, we have also just launched the Galaxy Ring, our smallest form of innovation yet,” said Annika Bizon, marketing and omnichannel director UK and Ireland, at the Open Always Wins lunch in London.

While Paralympian Kadeena Cox has hailed the technology of wearables as a “game-changer,” she insisted they are not just for high-level athletes.

“You don’t have to be a high-level athlete to take advantage of Samsung’s wearable tech. Anyone that’s looking to flip the switch in their lives when it comes to their wellness can really benefit, whether they’re just starting out on their journey, wanting to level up their existing routines, or just wanting to refine their goals.

“As an athlete there are so many factors that feed into your overall performance. Proper sleep tracking in particular has been a game-changer for me. With a dedicated training and competing schedule, I need to be well-rested to be at my best every day and keep improving,” said the Team Samsung Galaxy ambassador.
