Taylor Swift reportedly celebrated her first Thanksgiving with her boyfriend Travis Kelce on Thursday (28.11.24). The celebration marked a significant milestone in their relationship, which has captivated fans worldwide since they began dating earlier this year.
The pop superstar missed the big day last year due to touring commitments as she was in South American with her ‘The Eras’ shows but a report suggests she was at home with Travis and her family in Nashville, Tennessee for a “festive and special” celebration. Nashville, Swift’s adopted hometown, has been a significant part of her journey since moving there at age 14 to pursue her music career.
“Taylor and Travis had a great Thanksgiving together with their families. It’s the first Thanksgiving they celebrated together,” a source told PEOPLE. Their relationship has been closely followed by fans and media alike, with their combined social media following reaching over 300 million.
The gathering is believed to have been hosted by Taylor’s parents Scott and mom Andrea and Travis’ family were also invited. The Swift family home in Nashville has been a private retreat for the singer throughout her career spanning over 15 years.
“Taylor and her family were excited to host the Kelces this year. [Travis’ brother] Jason was there with his family and kids too. It was very festive and special,” the insider added. The Kelce brothers have gained significant attention this year, with their podcast “New Heights” becoming one of the most popular sports shows.
The report states NFL star Travis had to leave after Thanksgiving Day to get ready for the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 29. The Chiefs, where Kelce plays as tight end, have won multiple Super Bowl championships during his tenure.
Taylor and Travis’ mum Donna also travelled to Kansas City, Missouri to cheer on Travis at the Arrowhead Stadium. The stadium has become a frequent destination for Swift, who has been spotted at several Chiefs games this season, boosting NFL viewership significantly.
The pop superstar is due to head back to Canada in the coming days to perform the final three dates of her ‘The Eras’ tour in Vancouver. The tour has broken records, becoming the highest-grossing concert tour in history with over $1 billion in revenue.
The tour wraps up in the city on December 8. Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium, with a capacity of 54,500, will host the historic final shows of the tour’s first leg.
Taylor previously played six dates in Toronto before Thanksgiving and the singer admitted she’s getting emotional as the tour draws to a close. The Toronto shows alone generated an estimated $70 million in revenue for the local economy.
“Our 6 shows in Toronto were so incredible. It was awesome to play in Canada after so much time. As always, the fans in Toronto treated us like it was a hometown show. Couldn’t have asked for more love or generosity from the people who came out …” she wrote in a post on Instagram, where she commands an audience of over 270 million followers.
“The emotions have gotten pretty heightened for me and the rest of the team because it’s gotten extremely real for us: Our next city will be the last one of ‘The Eras Tour’, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far. See you, Vancouver. We can’t wait to give you all we’ve got for three more shows.”
The ‘Anti-Hero’ singer will have played 149 shows across five continents by the time ‘The Eras’ tour wraps up in Vancouver. The tour has set numerous records, including the most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single calendar year.
The combination of Swift’s musical success and her relationship with Kelce has created a unique cultural phenomenon in 2024, bridging the worlds of pop music and professional sports. Their relationship has garnered attention from both entertainment and sports media, creating unprecedented cross-industry interest.
