One of the NBA’s greatest scorers and one of the NBA’s greatest dunkers are headed to the NFL as owners. Former Toronto Raptors teammates Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady are two of the 10 limited partners authorized to become part of the Buffalo Bills ownership group, meaning they will become minority owners of the franchise. The two NBA Hall Of Famers are also cousins.

McGrady grateful to be an owner

“I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the Buffalo Bills organization as a minority owner — a dream come true for me and my family,” McGrady said. “Sports have been a lifelong passion, and the chance to contribute to such a top-tier organization is a true honor. After meeting the Pegulas, understanding their vision, embracing their values, and sharing their commitment to winning, this decision felt natural. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this journey.”

Known by many as “T-Mac,” Tracy McGrady was one of the NBA’s most explosive scorers. During his 16 seasons in the NBA, McGrady was a seven-time All-Star who dazzled spectators with his skillful shooting, dunking ability, and ability to takeover games with his coring prowess. While playing for the Orlando Magic, he led the NBA in scoring in back-to-back seasons (2003 and 2004). He is most known for his 13 points in only 33 seconds, which helped the Houston Rockets pull off an incredible comeback victory in 2004.McGrady was also one of the first high school to NBA success stories. All of these achievements lent McGrady to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

It’s Vinsanity with the Bills

His cousin, Carter, has an equally stellar resume. Vince Carter or “Vinsanity,” is the longest-tenured player in NBA history, playing an incredible 22 seasons. Carter, known for his gravity-defying dunks, became a sensation in the basketball world during the 2000s. He was selected to eight All-Star teams and revolutionized the art of dunking, especially with his iconic performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest. Carter was drafted by the Raptors with whom he became a star, helping to popularize basketball in Canada. He would go on to play for the New Jersey Nets, where he would advance to the NBA Finals for the first time, and secure his place in NBA history. He was also thankful to be a part of this ownership group.

“It’s a huge honor to join this historic Bills organization,” Carter said in a statement. “I’m truly thankful the Pegula family has given me the opportunity to help the franchise continue to grow and thrive in player growth, community service, and, of course, winning the Lombardi trophy. See you soon, Bills Mafia!!!!”
