Brent Faiyaz’s mother, Jeanette Wood, helped start the Faiyaz Freedom to Breathe Foundation (FFBF) alongside her son: their foundation champions self-discovery, artistic expression, and entrepreneurial success for youth and women. Born Christopher Brent Wood, the globally renown independent artist Brent Faiyaz recently won the Best Afro RNB Song of the Year at the Africa Arts Entertainments Award (AAEA) for this single with Afrobeat star Wizkid. His phenomenal sophomore project, “Wonderland,” hit No.2 on the Billboard charts, and he recently signed a deal reportedly valued at $50 million to lead a creative agency. On Saturday, mom and her youngest son, Charlotte natives, hosted their annual ‘Show U Off’ luncheon, and afterward, we caught up with Wood to learn more about FFBF.
