For a couple of years now, the Hyundai Equis has been ravaging the spotlight for its class. The car has features and styling that you could only find in an upper-end vehicle, and all in a nice, stylish little package. Well the good people over at Toyota have apparently gotten a little tired of the accolades that the Equis has garnered (often times, beating out Toyota’s luxury release, the Avalon), and now they’ve stepped up their game and revamped the Avalon so that it can live up to its initial expectations – instead of just looking and feeling like an over-priced Camry.
The Avalon now comes packed full of Lexus quality appointments (as well it should, because Toyota owns Lexus). With the remodel of the Avalon, Toyota updated and upgraded the body styling, electronics and overall luxury of the car, bringing it into its own as a true upper-echelon automobile. The Avalon now has as a more aggressive look that sets it apart (no one should confuse it for a Camry anymore), and the interior has a look and feel that will pamper the most demanding passenger or driver.
They even extended the wheelbase of the Avalon so that passengers would feel a noticeable difference between the Avalon and its little brother, the Camry. With a longer wheelbase, the new trim and legroom starts to make you feel more like you’re in a true luxury brand. Industry insiders are predicting that Toyota finally has a winner on their hands with this one, giving buyers the comfort of not having to worry that they just paid a lot of money for a hyped up Camry. And the new Avalon should easily give that Equis a run for its money now. Chew on that, you other premium mid-sized automakers.
