After raising cain on the Los Angeles version of Shaunie O’Neal’s reality TV show, an eccentric cast member will not return for the second season. Jackie Christie, the wife of retired basketball player Doug Christie, is rumored to be off the program after being the constant source of drama last season. According to entertainment blog MouthToEars, Christie is being ostracized by cast members who refuse to film scenes with her. In particular, sisters Laura and Gloria Govan have taken the most issue with the “wife.”
“Word is that allegedly the pair of sisters can’t stand her loony a–,” reports the site.
Christie quickly became the villain of the series last year and was accused of trying to turn the ladies against one another. She also highlighted her marriage to her ex-NBA playing husband, whom she remarries every year in an elaborate vow renewal ceremony. Recently, Doug and Jackie Christie renewed their vows in a LGBT nightclub to promote “acceptance.”
On the first season of “Basketball Wives LA,” viewers were introduced to Malaysia Pargo, Draya Michele, the Govan sisters, Jackie Christie and Imani Showalter. Two other ladies were also present; Ron Artest’s wife, Kimsha; and Tanya Williams, the soon-to-be ex-wife of New Jersey Net Jayson Williams, but both of them were phased out of the program. With Kimsha Artest, Tanya Williams and Jackie Christie reportedly out for the season that will premiere this fall, there are three open slots for potential new wives. So who could step into these lady’s designer shoes? Check out three “Basketball Wives LA” replacements below. –danielle canada
