It’s no secret that since NeNe Leakes and Star Jones appeared on the latest season of Celebrity Apprentice , that the two have been nothing less than bitter rivals. And although they expressed their mutual disdain through vicious verbal jabs, both on screen and in the press, Leakes recently revealed that she doesn’t actually hate Jones.
In a recent interview with Essence at this past weekend’s Essence Music Festival, Leakes explained that although she and Jones still aren’t friends, things aren’t so tense between the two that she can’t remain cordial with the former The View co-host.
“Saying hello costs me nothing, that’s free,” said Leakes “I’m not so in a rage that I can’t say hello, and I can’t stand in the same room as Star.
Adding, “I don’t hate her, I don’t know anybody that I hate.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star attributes her newfound outlook on her time away from Jones following the season’s end in May. As Leakes explains, she simply came to accept Jones for who she is.
“Star is Star,” she said with a smile. “I wish her all the best.”
Somehow, we find it hard to believe that latter statement, but considering Jones and Leakes’ past, this is probably the best it’s ever going to get between those two. –nicholas robinson
