Author Jan Lowery has lived an adventurous life. Not only because she was fortunate enough to be selected for Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure, but because she’s brave enough to tap into all her passions. From writing children’s stories to writing a “captivating, mesmeric and riveting” adult novel, Lowery listens to that still, small voice and she acts. One of her readers had this to say on Amazon about her first novel, Lips Hips and Fingertips: “Jan Lowery’s complex, intense characterizations and dialogue were realistic and vividly portrayed. I was shocked to find how cleverly hidden characters were, but yet in plain sight.”
On why she wrote the book, Lowery offers …
After writing for children at Ebony Jr!, I yearned to write something more grown-up and romantic. So, I started writing Lips, Hips and Fingertips – though it started with another name – as an expression of how I was feeling at that time about relationships and navigating the twists and turns we all go through in finding, having, giving and receiving love from who we believe is the right person for us … Or are they really? And then after returning from my trip to Australia in December 2010 with Oprah, who encouraged us as her ‘Ultimate Viewers’ to step outside our box and dare to live our dreams, I self-published my book through Amazon/Kindle.
What is the book about?
Lips, Hips and Fingertips is a story about a young woman torn between the love of two men – one whose passion is his business and the other whose business is passion and how their lives get caught up in a web of lies, desire and sex-for-hire. The romantic tale is weaved around passionate letters written to one of the two men, as the story reveals their intimate encounters in detail.
Amazon review:
“Chicago, a vibrant city alive with the excitement of summer, transforms four lives through unbridled sex, money and manipulation. Raye Jordon is a children’s writer working for a national magazine. Enjoying living on her own in the Windy City, her life suddenly centers around sensual passions unfulfilled as she searches for true love – guided by her ‘insightful’ intuition. She tells the story of meeting Andrew Austin, whose passion is his business and Craig Reese whose business is passion and how their love for her has her caught up in a web of lies, desire and sex-for-hire. Raye must decide to whom she can trust her heart. Yet to find what she yearns for, their lives will become entangled and sexual appetites ignited. And only through passion’s tale of lips, hips and fingertips will her true desire be revealed!”
