Former Bad Boy Records rapper Craig Mack is best known for releasing “Flava In Ya Ear,” one of the most iconic hip-hop hits of the 1990s, and helping to put Sean Combs’ record label on the musical map. But the former EPMD roadie largely disappeared from the industry scene shortly thereafter.
But footage has emerged from 2012 that offers an update on Mack’s whereabouts.
The New York native appears to have become affiliated with a controversial religious organization called the Overcomer Ministry Community. Lead Pastor Ralph Gordon Stair preaches that the end of the world is near. According to the Post and Courier, Stair had legal issues back in 2007. He made “an involuntary and partial disclosure regarding sexual battery against several young adult women who were ‘Stair believers,'” according to a State Law Enforcement Division case file. He served 77 days in jail for charges of assault and battery. Stair also addressed allegations of adultery in the report. The Overcomer Ministry Community reportedly lives near Walterboro, South Carolina, where members live a very secluded lifestyle. They grow their own food and make their own clothes.
Mack reportedly has joined this community. In the footage that was unearthed, he gives his name and when asked what he used to do he refers to “wickedness and rap.”
