T.I. Moved Again; Where is he Headed this Time?

It looks like things are finally on the up-and-up for rapper T.I. After being sent to an Atlanta prison on Sept. 1 for traveling between an Arkansas prison and an Atlanta Halfway with VH1 producers and his manager, the ever-incarcerated rapper has again been released from federal lockup, and  finally moved to the halfway house to serve the remainder of his 11-month sentence.

In a statement released to MTV News, T.I.’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, explained that the rapper’s halfway house return follows his appearance at a disciplinary hearing where officials chose to show the No Mercy rapper a bit of benevolence.

“[T.I.] went through a disciplinary hearing held before the ‘Center Disciplinary Committee’ [composed of Community Corrections-halfway house-staff] who recommended that he be returned to the halfway house,” Sadow said.

Last month, T.I. made an agreement with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide his own transportation to between the Arkansas prison, where he served 10 months of his sentence parole violation related drug arres. After traveling to the halfway house on Aug. 31 via a luxury tour bus, the rapper was quickly detained a sent back to prison after officials claimed his manager and the VH1 producers were not authorized to ride with him and that he was conducting business during the trip, a violation of his furlough. However, maintaining his previous stance on the violation, Sadow claims that T.I. never intended to violate his furlough, a simple fact that he says helped the rapper win over the committee.

“We have good reason to believe that this favorable result was reached because of the pro-active and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing [Federal Bureau of Prisons] officials and the media with reliable and accurate information that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other [Federal Bureau Prisons] rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta,” Sadow told TMZ. “T.I. will be released from the custody of the [Federal Bureau Prisons] on Sept. 29, and then will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for a period of one year.”

Hopefully, T.I.’s last week and a half of detainment will go by smoothly. –nicholas robinson
