Tone Loc Arrested for Domestic Violence

“Funky Cold Medina” rapper Tone Loc is in a funky cold mess after being arrested on June 18 at his Burbank, Calif., apartment complex for a felony domestic violence charge.

According to TMZ, the rapper born Anthony Terrell Smith was arrested around 2:45 p.m. due to an alleged physical altercation with the mother of his child. Once law enforcement arrived on the scene, the 45-year-old rapper was taken into police custody without incident and booked into a local jail a few hours later. At the time of the report, Loc was being held on a $50,000 bond.

This isn’t the first time this year that Loc has had a run-in with the law. In January, Loc spotted driving erratically by police and arrested for DUI. He was released on bail and claimed that a medical condition caused him to have a seizure, hence his erratic driving. In the past, the rapper collapsed on stage due to seizures.

Loc originally came to fame in the ’80s, releasing monster hits such as “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing.” In the ‘9os, Loc transitioned over into TV, film and voice acting, appearing in projects such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Poetic Justice and Aladdin.

Hopefully, Loc will calm his “Wild Thing” temper and scrounge up enough money for bail. –nicholas robinson
