Michelle Obama Wears Designer Tracy Reese
During last night’s appearance at the Democratic National Convention, people were not only enthralled by the heartfelt speech so graciously delivered by first lady Michelle Obama, they were taken aback once again by her style. The first lady looked nothing short of stunning on Wednesday, Sept. 4, thanks in part to a dress tailored to perfection accentuating her slim waist and trademark sinewy shoulders. The gown came from Tracy Reese, a black designer from Detroit, who has previously outfitted the first lady for an Ebony magazine cover.
“As always I couldn’t be more proud to have the opportunity to dress her,” said Reese to SpeakEasy.com about her custom-made frock for the “mommy in chief.” “I was moved to tears by Mrs. Obama’s amazing speech. I knew she was speaking from her heart and she touched mine,” she added. In addition to the head turning dress, Michelle donned semi-affordable shoes from J. Crew. The $245 suede pumps are expected to sell out.
