On Saturday, March 30, 2013, bacon lovers from around the city flocked to Dad’s Garage Theatre in Atlanta’s Inman Park neighborhood to attend the 13th annual BaconFest fundraiser. Featuring its usual tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and mischievous fun, the wildly popular annual event benefiting Dad’s Garage featured live music, entertainment and games, plenty of ice-cold beer courtesy of Pabst Blue Ribbon, Grolsch and Terrapin and, of course, 1,200 pounds of bacon donated by Vortex Bar & Grill and cooked up by D.B.A. Barbecue.Designed for the silly at heart and manned by the wildly entertaining Dad’s Garage improv actors, the game and entertainment booths at BaconFest included: Hunt an Improviser; the Wheelchair Obstacle Course; Hobo Wine Tasting; Face Painting Booth, Fortune Teller/Freud Booth; Cock Pod; Bad Caricatures; a photo booth; Advice Booth/Kompliments by Karen; Wheel of Schatz/Make Rickey Smile; Trivia Booth; Blast the Easter Butty; and The Roaming Pizza Slice. BaconFester’s also had the opportunity to lock lips with Atlanta icon and Claremont Lounge entertainer, Blondie, who made a guest appearance in the Sanitary Smooch booth. In addition, Vampire Diaries cast member, Candice Accola, was also among the crowd of bacon lovers in attendance.
The event ended on a truly unforgettable note as Jordan Patterson got down on one knee to propose to girlfriend Lindsay Bain after the pair was crowned King and Queen of BaconFest. Of course, the answer was yes.
