Now that former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Claudia Jordan has been ousted from co-hosting Hot 107.9’s “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” rap star Da Brat has become her replacement.

The 41-year-old veteran artist’s new position comes after the announcement just a few days ago that Jordan would be leaving the syndicated radio show. The former model confirmed her exit on her Facebook page, stating that she is “moving on to more opportunities,” although some speculated whether host Rickey Smiley had an issue with Jordan after he posted a message to Facebook that discussed a disrespectful member of the morning show.

Jordan had initially joined the crew last year when Ebony Steele was let go without explanation after seven years with the program.

Da Brat, who has been a regular guest on the local Atlanta show, began her duties as co-host this morning. She reported the news that the Confederate battle flag had been taken down in South Carolina and that Bobby Brown’s wife gave birth to a baby girl.

After her heyday as a popular So So Def artist, Da Brat spent three years in prison for assaulting a hostess with a rum bottle at a nightclub in 2007. She has also been a cast member on reality shows such as “Celebrity Fit Club” and “The Surreal Life.”
