Lauryn Hill, the Fugees, D-Nice, and Latto highlight Global Citizen Festival

Ms. Lauryn Hill, the co-headliner for the event, not only performed her solo hits but Wyclef Jean and Pras joined her onstage, and the trio known as the Fugees performed some of their biggest hits as well. Hill performed “Lost Ones”, “Ex-Factor”, and “Doo Wop (That Thing)” amongst other solo hits, to the delight of her soaked fans.

Snoop Dogg, Nas, Lil Wayne, more celebrate Hip-Hop 50 at Yankee Stadium

Run-D.M.C, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, and many more were advertised and did take the stage at Yankee Stadium, the home of the New York Yankees. But in celebration of such a milestone for hip-hop culture, it was the surprise guests that arguably left the crowd in nirvana, which included Lauryn Hill, Method Man, Ashanti, and more.

Lauryn Hill, Ron Isley, Mary Mary perform on 1st day of Roots Picnic

Performances by icons Lauryn Hill, Ron Isley, and Mary Mary were among the many highlights of the first day of the 2023 Roots Picnic at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. State Property, the Philadelphia hip-hop collective signed to Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella records two decades ago, united to perform together for the first time in years, while hip-hop artists GloRilla and Lil Uzi Vert and musician Mike Phillips were among some of the many others to perform across two stages.
