Rumors about Bruce Jenner’s alleged transition to becoming a woman have been flying around the tabloids for months, with photos of his changing appearance surfacing daily. Although Jenner has not confirmed or denied the rumors, a new report reveals that his mother is now claiming that the rumors are true.
According to RadarOnline, Esther Jenner explained to the site that her son recently told her about his transition.
“I just learned about [his transition],” she explained. “Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it.”
Esther also opened up about Jenner’s new docu-series, in which he’ll allegedly document his journey from a man to a woman.
“I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted,” Esther said.
Jenner’s mother explained that, before the revelation, she “did not know” of her child’s struggle to come out and live as a transgender woman.
“Right now I am more proud of him for what he’s allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect,” she explained.
Esther explained that the reason Jenner is now opening up about his transition is because he wants to inspire other transgender people to live freely.
And although reports claim that Jenner’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner, is struggling with the news of his transition, Esther claims that her love for her son will never dwindle and that she accepts him as is.
“I support him wholeheartedly,” Esther shared. “I just love him like I always have.”
We’re still waiting for confirmation from Jenner, but it’s great to know that his mother is so accepting of him regardless of his gender.
