On Thursday night, March 2, FOX, the Black Women Film Network (BWFN) and Morgan Stanley hosted an advanced screening of the new series “Shots Fired” created by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood at the Center For Civil and Human Rights in Georgia. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with an upscale reception including an open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres. Over 200 guests mingled and roamed the history-rich galleries.

Sheryl Gripper (founder, BWFN), Chris Richardson (Morgan Stanley) and DeWanda Wise (cast, “Shots Fired”) welcomed the audience and introduced them to the exclusive episode. Immediately following the screening, Reggie Rock Bythewood (creator/executive producer, “Shots Fired”), DeWanda Wise and Jill Hennessy (cast, “Shots Fired”) participated in a Q&A session moderated by Egypt Sherrod (HGTV). Also in attendance was Da Brat (rapper, radio personality, “Ricky Smiley Morning Show”), Joseline Hernandez (Vh1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”), Crystal Fox (OWN,“Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots”) Dionne Farris (singer/songwriter), Gocha Hawkins (WE tv’s “L.A. Hair”), Jasmine Burke (Bounce TV’s “Saints & Sinners”), D. Woods (recording artist), Cornbread (recording artist), DJ Fadelf, April Parker Jones (OWN, “Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong”) and many more.

“Shots Fired” is a 10-part, event mystery that examines the dangerous aftermath of two racially charged shootings by law enforcement in a small southern town. With amazing music, and an all-star cast led by Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Mack Wilds and Helen Hunt, the show will entertain and challenge perspectives.

The series premieres March 22 at 8/7c on FOX, prior to the spring return of “Empire” at 9/8c. Follow the show on social media at @ShotsFiredFOX. http://www.fox.com/shotsfired

What kinda stupid show is this? are people running out of ideas or something or just being ignorant. Trying to make cops look bad again with that stupid race nonsense? Cops are not the problem, never were and I’m a police officer myself. Stop with the race crap and stop trying to make law enforcement look bad. no wonder i stopped watching fox years ago, they keep putting out stupid shows. Even the return of the X files were terrible, but that was the writers fault.
