It is reported that the Academy Award-nominated actor is returning to the movies in hopes of making more classics like Boyz N the Hood, What’s Love Got to do With It? and, of course, the Matrix franchise.
Fishburne had an exensive price tag attached to him and it was considered a risky move to recruit him for “CSI.” Petersen and Helgenberger were a winning team for nine seasons, and “CSI” was a primetime ratings grabber for CBS. However, by the time Petersen left, the veteran show was starting to hemorrhage viewers.
Fishburne was judged to be worth his estimated $14 million salary in his first season. But, by the end of season 11, the ratings went on a slow but steady decline from “CSI’s” glory days, and it dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since it became a hit a decade ago.
