5 Black Celebrities Who Know the Pain of Falling Off the Weight-Loss Wagon on Thanksgiving

Oprah says she decided to get fit (again) after her doctor told her she  could face serious health problems if she didn’t shed some pounds.

O has a contract with herself (which you can download from her website). A believer in writing as great therapy, she says you should write down a promise to yourself to get healthy and be specific about the goal(s) you set . Oprah says her contract with herself is a symbol of her commitment to getting fit.

The basics of O’s weight loss regimen is what she calls “NO white stuff.” White stuff  is the refined flours, potatoes, and sugar that are so common in the processed foods most Americans eat daily. Oprah gave up over-processed breads for whole grains.

As with most of those who have been successful at weight loss, Oprah concedes that her big battle is portion control. O says she would eat an entire box of croissants if she didn’t set limits for herself. Her key to weight loss is eating less of the things she loves. She also pays attention to not eating at certain times. According to Oprah’s now famous trainer, Bob Greene, people who eat after dinner most of time do it for emotional reasons not real hunger.

Oprah is a great example of a person who has battled a food addiction and won…and lost…and won again.

For those who have fallen off the weight loss wagon more than once, it’s good to know that with the will to get back to your fitness goals, you can succeed…again.
