According to WSB-TV, eyewitnesses say that Dunkin, born Mario Hampton, apparently snatched a piece of candy from another in the recording studio, causing an argument and then a fistfight.
“This fight spilled out into this area where he was attacked and beaten. Based on the evidence we have, whoever he was fighting with secured a weapon and shot him,” said Detective David Quinn of the Atlanta Police Department.
Unfortunately, because the police first arrived at the hospital and not the scene of the crime, where a number of witnesses were at the time of the shooting, cops were unable to properly interview all of people who were present.
So far, no witnesses have come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 404-577-TIPS.
There will be a public viewing today, Dec. 22 at Atlanta’s Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, located at 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd., from the hours of 6 p.m. EST to 9 p.m. EST.
Hopefully, Dunkin’s murder can be solved and his murderer be swiftly brought to justice. Below, you can check out six other senseless acts of violence that have plagued the hip-hop community. –nicholas robinson
