Television
2011 continued to be the year of reality television – the good, the bad, and the crazy moments are too numerous to recall but with show like “The Real Housewives,” “Basketball Wives,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Biggest Loser” “Love & Hip Hop,” “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” “American Idol” and “The Voice” kept us glued to our television sets for the latest fights, gossip, heartfelt moments and news. From the royal w,edding to President Obama announcing the death of Osama bin Laden, the Class of 2011: Year in ReviewSuperbowl, the NBA Finals, and the World Series there were so many historical moments in 2011 that we were able to witness on TV. Though scripted shows seem to be far and few between, some of our favorites like “Two and a Half Men” came back with Ashton Kutcher, “The Good Wife” and “Harry’s Law” made us love attorneys, and shows like “Glee” still amaze. The greatest moment for African Americans in television was the return of the beloved show, “The Game” and we also had fun watching LisaRaye and Stacey Dash being “Single Ladies.” For many of us no other television moment was more memorable than Oprah’s farewell after 25 years of hosting the “Oprah Winfrey Show.”
