'ATL Live on the Park' Returns With Crazy Energy, Classic Funk, Soul and R&B

On April 10, Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols presented the return of ATL Live on the Park… Season 3, a monthly live music series featuring performances by high-profile R&B artists and emerging talents. The beautiful Park Tavern; an indoor-outdoor venue overlooking Piedmont Park, played host to the season three launch and was filled with several popular guests, including A&R executive Coach K, “RHOA” cast member and entrepreneur Peter ThomasDJ Mars, up-and-coming pop group the Yes Ma’ams and more. Guests experienced a musical montage featuring MySpace music sensation Mateo, R&B extraordinaire Ray Lavender, and special guest performer, singer-songwriter-pianist Avery Sunshine. Also, up-and-coming ATL Live on the Park Artist of the Month, Timothy J. Wilson, executed a jaw-dropping performance, pleasing the entire audience with his newly discovered musical talents.


Filled with crazy-energy, a perfect mixture of great music and food provided the total package of an ultimate experience for each and every audience member. The live music from the Teddy White Band and DJ Trauma flooded the scenery with classic funk, soul and R&B while lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns kept the audience engaged throughout the night. Kenny Burns states, “We took ATL Live on the Park … Season 3 to the next level tonight. This season is going to be one of the best …”

Over the past years, impromptu performances included Akon, Kelly Price, Miguel, Jagged Edge, Dave Hollister, Anthony David and many more. Music executives such as Steve Rifkin, Devyne Stephens, Kawan Prather, Kenard Gibbs, CEO of Soul Train, and Catherine Brewton of BMI, have all been in attendance. ATL Live on the Park … Season 3 has quickly become a staple of live entertainment for the city of Atlanta and between all of the admirable auditions and special celebrity guest appearances and performances; season three is the most anticipated season of ATL Live on the Park thus far!
