We didn’t include member of the British royal family in this countdown because they are political than entertainers (though Prince Harry has definitely entertained Western Civilization with his naked, drunken romp through Las Vegas among other more minor scandals. Oh, and then there’s Duchess Sara Ferguson and her scandals, etc.) and because their weddings were subsidized by and large by the taxpayers.

But 30 years after his parents were married in “the wedding of the century,” Prince William and Katherine Middleton (seen above) had his own giant wedding, businessinsider.com reports. The business publication states the Kate and William’s wedding cost an estimated $34

That makes it probably the third most expensive wedding in history.

Diana and Charles (seen below) take the cake with a wedding costing $110 million when adjusted for inflation. Vanisha Mittal and Amit Bhatia come in third after paying an inflation-adjusted $66 million, Business Insider reports.
