The remaining students were escorted out of the building single file, man of them panicked or crying. There are approximately 626 students enrolled in kindergarten through fourth grade classes at Sandy Hook Elementary, and 46 faculty members. The city is located a couple of hours southwest of Hartford. Concerned parents have been reporting to a nearby fire station to learn the status of their child.
President Obama has been informed of the grisly bloodbath and will be kept informed of the latest developments throughout the day.
