A healthy fruit smoothie should contain no more than four ingredients – fresh fruit, fresh veggies, ice and 100 percent juice. Many of the quick stop stores load in extras like ice cream, sugar, syrup-sweetened fruit and even canned fruit.  To avoid hidden calories and sugar, it’s best to make smoothies at home with fresh ingredients.
